Upcoming Renault Duster 7-Seater Spotted in India

Big News for SUV Fans! Renault is working on a new 7-seater version of the Duster SUV. It was recently seen testing on Indian roads, covered in heavy camouflage. This new model could be called Renault Boreal when it launches in India.

What We Know So Far:

  • Name & Seating: The 7-seater Duster might be called Boreal in India. It will have three rows of seats, making it bigger than the regular Duster.
  • Design: The car looks like it has a longer back (rear overhang) to make space for the third row. It still looks like an SUV with strong body lines, bold bumpers, and a roof spoiler.
  • Inspired by Bigster: The design could be similar to the Dacia Bigster, which is sold in Europe. But unlike the Bigster (which is a 5-seater with a large boot), the Indian version will use that space for extra seating.

When Will It Launch?

Renault is planning to launch two new SUVs in India. The regular 5-seater Duster will come first. After that, the 7-seater Boreal is expected to launch in the second half of 2026.

Rivals in the Market:

Once launched, the Renault Boreal will compete with:

  • Hyundai Alcazar
  • Mahindra XUV700
  • Tata Safari
  • MG Hector Plus
  • Upcoming Maruti Grand Vitara 7-seater
  • Upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser 7-seater

Engine & Power Options:

The Boreal is likely to use the same engine options as the Dacia Bigster in Europe. These include:

  1. Mild hybrid petrol
  2. Mild hybrid petrol with 4x4
  3. Full hybrid

Renault has said it is interested in bringing hybrid options to India to offer fuel-efficient choices.

In Short:

Renault is bringing a bigger Duster with 7 seats, possibly called Boreal, to India by late 2026. It will have modern SUV looks, more seating, and may include hybrid engines.
