Driving Experience:

Tesla has finally started its journey in India, and they’ve begun with the Model Y – their most popular car around the world. We got a chance to drive it briefly in Mumbai, from Tesla’s Experience Center in BKC to Marine Drive and back. Even though the drive was short and it was raining, it gave us a good idea of what to expect.

The Model Y doesn’t try too hard to look flashy. It has a clean and smooth design with no big grilles or sharp lines. But because it looks so different, it grabs attention on Indian roads. Cool features like the hidden door handles, sloping roof, and big glass roof make it look modern and unique.

Inside, the car is very simple. There are no buttons or switches. Everything is controlled through a big touchscreen in the middle. If you like physical buttons, it may take time to get used to. But the screen works really well – maps, AC, music, car settings – all are easy to use.

One thing we really liked was the clear view outside while driving. The big windows and low dashboard make it easy to see the road, which helps in busy traffic.

However, the ride is a bit hard. You feel the bumps and potholes more than you would in some other cars. Also, the steering is very light – good for city driving, but it doesn’t give you the same feel as regular steering.

Now, let’s talk about performance. The Model Y is fast and quiet. The moment you press the accelerator, it picks up speed quickly. Plus, the cabin is quiet, blocking out most of the city noise.

In short, our short drive left us excited. The Model Y might not feel fancy in the usual way, but it gives a unique Tesla feel – smart design, high tech, and strong performance. We’ll drive it more soon and share a full review. Stay tuned!
