Kia is working on a brand-new version of its popular Seltos SUV. The car is being tested in India and in other countries. It will be a global model, which means it will be sold in several places like America, Europe, India, and South Korea.
Earlier, it was expected that the new Seltos would launch around October 2025. But now, reports from Korea say the global launch will happen in January 2026. India may be the first country to get it, possibly between February and March 2026.
Kia has confirmed that the new Seltos will get a hybrid engine. However, the version for India will be different from the one sold in other countries.
- Global version: It may get a 1.6-litre hybrid engine with 141hp (same as the Hyundai Kona and Kia Niro). It might also come with an electric all-wheel drive (E-AWD) system, which is useful in places like Europe and America.
- India version: It could have a 1.5-litre petrol hybrid engine with four cylinders. It will use a small battery and an electric motor to support the engine. This same engine might also be used in other new Kia cars, including a 7-seater SUV being developed for India.

The international model of the 2026 Kia Seltos with AWD (all-wheel drive) will also have independent rear suspension, which should make the ride smoother and handling better. The current Seltos in India only has front-wheel drive and a simpler rear suspension.
