Kia Syros Diesel AT Long-Term Review: City Report

Kia Syros Diesel AT Long-Term Review: City Report

The Kia Syros has been my daily partner for a while now, helping me with my 50km office commute through heavy traffic and rainy days. Overall, it has been a mix of good and not-so-good experiences.

What I Like:

  • The auto-hold function makes traffic jams easier to deal with.
  • A rear wiper is very useful in rains and even works automatically in reverse gear.
  • Cup holders that fold away when not in use, and can store small things like keys or a wallet.
  • Keyless entry and start make life easier.
  • The 360-degree camera and blind-spot monitor are a big help while parking or avoiding careless bikers.
  • The second-row seats are spacious and comfortable, with good legroom. Ventilated seats also add comfort.

What Could Be Better:

  • The fuel efficiency is low for a diesel automatic, giving only about 11kmpl.
  • The engine feels noisy at higher revs and doesn’t feel as refined as in other Kia models.
  • The headlamp throw is weak, which can be tricky on dark roads.
  • The door handles confuse some passengers as they don’t pop out automatically like in other premium cars.

In short: The Kia Syros makes city driving easy with its comfort and features, but fuel efficiency and headlamp performance could have been better.
