Bengaluru Tycoon ‘KGF Babu’ Fined Rs 38 Lakh for Not Paying Road Tax on Rolls Royce Cars

Bengaluru Tycoon ‘KGF Babu’ Fined Rs 38 Lakh for Not Paying Road Tax on Rolls Royce Cars

Bollywood stars have set RTO rules in motion!: Amitabh-Aamir's luxury car was fined ₹38 lakh, know what the whole matter is

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan's two luxury cars have sparked a tax dispute in Bengaluru, due to which their current owner, GF Babu, has been fined ₹38 lakh. This action has been taken by the RTO. Bengaluru RTO has imposed a hefty fine of ₹38 lakh on two models of this luxury car brand for evading Karnataka road tax. However, these cars are still registered in the names of 'Big B' and Aamir; the name transfer has not been done on paper yet.

Why was the fine of ₹38 lakh imposed? Businessman and politician Yusuf Sharif, alias KGF Babu, bought a luxury car from Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan years ago, but never completed the registration process, due to which it is still registered in the names of Bachchan and Khan. This car has a Maharashtra registration and has been running on Karnataka roads for the past several years. As per the rules, if a car from another state is run in Karnataka for more than a year, local road tax has to be paid, which has not been paid. For this reason, the Bengaluru police have imposed a fine.

According to a report by Moneycontrol, a model owned by Amitabh Bachchan has been in use in Bengaluru since 2021, while an older model of Aamir's car has been running on the city roads since 2023. A Rolls-Royce Phantom registered in the name of 'Big B' has been fined ₹18.53 lakh, while a Rolls-Royce Ghost registered in the name of Aamir Khan has been fined ₹19.73 lakh. Both have been accused of not following Karnataka's vehicle registration and road tax rules for a long time. In this case, the Bollywood stars are facing trouble only because of the name, as the car was still in their name on the papers. However, the real owner is Yusuf Sharif.

Warnings ignore. First, a car came on the RTO radar in 2021 but was left behind as it had not completed a year in Karnataka at that time. However, both vehicles have crossed the one-year limit, due to which a hefty fine has been imposed. In 2021, Sharif declared assets worth Rs 1,744 crore during the 2021 Karnataka MLC elections.
