All You Need to Know About The MG Majestor

You are about to meet a new giant on Indian roads – the MG Majestor, a big, bold SUV made for families, long trips, and tough roads too.

What is the MG Majestor?

The MG Majestor is a large 7-seater SUV from MG Motor India. It sits above the MG Gloster in the company’s lineup, which means it is their new top big SUV for India. This car is made for people who want space, comfort, and power in one package.

The Majestor is built on a strong ladder-frame platform, like many serious off-road SUVs. It comes in 6-seat and 7-seat layouts, so your family and friends can travel together easily.

Launch, booking and price

MG has already unveiled the MG Majestor in India, and bookings are open. You can book the Majestor by paying around Rs 41,000 through MG’s official channels and dealers. The full price list is expected to be announced around April 2026, with an expected range of Rs 40–50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Test drives are planned to start at dealerships from April 2026, so you can sit in the car, feel the seats, and see if it suits your family. Deliveries are likely to follow soon after the price is revealed.

Engine, power and driving

Under the bonnet, the MG Majestor uses a 2.0‑litre twin‑turbo diesel engine. This engine makes about 215 horsepower and 478 Nm of torque, which means it has strong pulling power for hills, highways, and heavy loads. The SUV gets an 8‑speed automatic gearbox, so you do not need to change gears yourself in traffic.

The Majestor comes with rear‑wheel drive in some variants and 4‑wheel drive in the top trims. The 4WD version has up to 10 off‑road modes, triple differential locks, and an 810 mm water‑wading capacity, so it can handle rough roads, slush, and small river crossings with ease. Real‑world fuel efficiency is expected in the 10–12 kmpl range for mixed city and highway use.

Interior, comfort and features

Inside, the MG Majestor feels modern and premium. There is a new dashboard design with big screens, including a large touchscreen for music, navigation and car controls, plus a fully digital instrument cluster in higher trims. Top variants get a 12‑speaker JBL sound system, which makes long drives more fun for you and your family.

The SUV offers a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and massage front seats, and three‑zone automatic climate control in higher variants. There are rear AC vents, a power‑adjustable driver seat, and many storage spaces to keep bottles, snacks, and gadgets. Depending on the variant, you can choose captain seats in the second row for 6‑seat comfort or a bench layout for 7‑seat practicality.

Safety and technology

Safety is a big focus in the MG Majestor. The SUV comes with six airbags, ABS, traction control, hill descent control, and all‑wheel disc brakes. It also offers a 360‑degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and an electronic parking brake with auto‑hold for city use.

Higher variants get Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which can include features like adaptive cruise control and other driver aids to help make long highway drives easier and safer. Child safety locks and ISOFIX mounts help keep young passengers safe, too.

How is it different from the MG Gloster?

The MG Majestor is basically a heavily updated and more premium version of the MG Gloster. It uses the same basic engine but gets tougher, more stylish looks with a new front design, split headlamps, darker details, and a redesigned rear with connected taillamps. Inside, it has a fresher cabin layout, larger screens, a better sound system, and added comfort features compared to the Gloster.

Because of these upgrades and extra features, the Majestor is positioned above the Gloster in MG’s SUV range.

Rivals and who should consider it

In the market, the MG Majestor will compete with big SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner Legender, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron. These are all popular choices for people who want a strong, big family SUV with presence and power.

You can think about the MG Majestor if:

  • You want a large 6‑ or 7‑seater SUV for family trips and long drives.
  • You often drive on highways or rough roads and need strong diesel power and 4WD.
  • You like modern tech, big screens, a sunroof, and features like massage seats and premium sound.
  • You are shopping in the Rs 40–50 lakh (ex‑showroom) SUV segment.

If this sounds like you, your next step can be to visit a nearby MG showroom, place a booking if you are interested, and plan a test drive once they start in April 2026.
