5 Lakh Skoda Cars Made in India

Skoda has made 5,00,000 cars at its factories in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Most of these cars (about 70%) were built in Pune, and the rest (30%) in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Popular models like the Octavia, Laura, Superb, Kodiaq, and Kushaq have been part of this journey and are well-liked by Indian customers.

Skoda has also started sending parts (CKD kits) of the Kushaq and Slavia from India to Vietnam, where they are being assembled.

The company is now planning to grow further by expanding into smaller cities (Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets). In March 2025, Skoda had its highest monthly sales ever, selling 7,422 cars.

These Indian factories also export cars and parts to other countries. This supports the Indian government’s “Make in India” campaign.

Skoda’s CEO and MD, Piyush Arora, said:

“This isn’t just about making 5 lakh cars - it’s about building a bond with 5 lakh customers. Every car made here shows European quality, safety, and comfort. This success is shared between our workers and our customers. We’re proud to show what India can build, not just for itself, but for the world. This milestone also comes as Skoda completes 130 years globally and 25 years in India.”
