Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Revealed Ahead of April 9 Launch

Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Revealed Ahead of April 9 Launch

Volkswagen is ready to bring a fresh look to the Taigun, and the new facelift is just one day away from its big reveal.

Volkswagen has revealed the Volkswagen Taigun Facelift ahead of its launch on April 9, 2026. The updated SUV has also started production at Volkswagen’s Chakan plant in Pune, which is the same place where the Skoda Kushaq is made.

What is new

This is the first major update for the Taigun since it was first launched in India in 2021. The facelift brings a refreshed design, new features, and some possible changes inside the cabin to make the SUV feel more modern.

The front side of the SUV now looks sharper and newer. Reports say it may get a revised LED DRL setup, a tweaked front bumper, blacked-out inserts, fresh alloy wheels, and redesigned LED tail lamps. Some versions may also get connected LED light bars and illuminated logos.

Cabin and features

Inside the car, the Volkswagen Taigun Facelift is expected to get better trim materials, a new colour theme, and more comfort features. Expected updates include a larger infotainment screen, a bigger digital driver display, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

Some reports also suggest a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, rear-seat massage function, and ADAS safety features. These changes are likely aimed at making the SUV more useful for daily family travel and city driving.

Engine details

The facelift is expected to continue with the same petrol engines. That means buyers may still get the 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI engine options, while Volkswagen may also add a new gearbox choice for the 1.0-litre version.

This is good news for people who already like the Taigun for its driving feel. Volkswagen seems to be focusing more on style, comfort, and features instead of changing the full engine setup.

Why it matters

The midsize SUV market in India is very busy, with many buyers looking for a car that is stylish, safe, and practical. The Volkswagen Taigun Facelift is coming at the right time because people now expect more features even in family SUVs.

For you as a buyer, this means more choice and possibly better value if Volkswagen keeps the price competitive. The updated Taigun may also attract young buyers who want a premium feel without moving to a much bigger SUV.

Launch day update

Volkswagen will officially unveil the facelift on April 9, 2026. The company is expected to share full details about variants, features, and prices on that day.

Right now, the teaser and leaked images have already created strong interest. So if you are planning to buy a compact SUV soon, it may be smart to wait and compare the new Taigun with other options after the launch.
