Top 10 Bestselling Cars in July 2025

In July 2025, total passenger car sales in India held steady at about 348,000 cars sold, roughly the same as July 2024. Stable prices, a good monsoon, and steady interest rates helped buyers feel confident to pick new rides this month. The New Indian Express

Experts say two big reasons kept sales flat: tough competition among small hatchbacks and a growing taste for compact SUVs. Buyers balanced their budgets with fuel costs when choosing cars that fit their family's needs. The New Indian Express

SUV Lovers Stay Strong

Compact SUVs took five of the top ten spots, led by the Creta with almost 17,000 sales. The Brezza, Fronx, Nexon, and Scorpio also drew buyers who wanted higher seating, extra cabin space, and confident driving on varied roads.

Sedans and MPVs Offer Value

The Dzire sedan topped the list with over 20,000 sales. Its roomy trunk and smooth ride made it a family favourite. The Ertiga MPV sold 16,604 units, thanks to its flexibility for seven passengers or extra luggage space.

Maruti Suzuki’s Market Lead

With seven models in the top ten, Maruti Suzuki showed why it remains India’s most trusted carmaker. Affordable prices, quick service, and a wide dealer reach helped seven Maruti models dominate July’s sales.

Electric Vehicles on the Rise

Beyond these top ten, India’s electric car sales set a new monthly record of 15,423 units in July, up 93% from last year. This shows more buyers want cleaner cars, even as they choose popular hatchbacks and SUVs for everyday use.
