Renault Kwid EV Caught Testing in India

The upcoming Renault Kwid EV has been spotted testing on Indian roads. This electric hatchback is expected to launch in India by late 2026 or early 2027. It will share many features with the Dacia Spring EV, which is already on sale in global markets.

What’s New in Renault’s Lineup?

Renault India has been active in updating its portfolio. Recently, the facelifted Triber and Kiger were launched. The brand is also preparing to bring back the all-new Duster SUV in early 2026, along with its larger seven-seater version that could be named Boreal.

Renault Kwid EV Exterior Design

The Kwid EV’s design looks modern and urban-friendly. Key highlights include:

  • New front grille with LED DRLs
  • Halogen headlamps
  • Updated Renault logo
  • Squared-off wheel arches
  • Y-shaped tail lamp design
  • Sporty rear bumper styling

This test mule could also hint at the facelifted Kwid ICE version coming soon.

Interior and Features

Inside, the Kwid EV gets several modern features:

  • 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • 7-inch digital instrument cluster
  • Multifunction steering wheel
  • Practical storage with 35 litres of front storage and 308 litres of boot space (as seen in the Dacia Spring EV).

Battery and Range

Globally, the Dacia Spring EV comes with:

  • 26.8 kWh battery pack
  • Two power options: 44 hp or 64 hp
  • 220+ km range (WLTP cycle)
  • Charging support: 11 kW AC charger and 30 kW DC fast charger
  • Bi-directional charging support

These specs are expected to be carried over, or slightly upgraded, for the Indian version.

When Will Renault Kwid EV Launch in India?

The Renault Kwid EV is likely to enter Indian showrooms by late 2026 or early 2027.
