The Nissan Magnite, a small SUV, has received a 5-star rating in the latest Global NCAP safety test for adult protection. This test checks how safe a car is in case of a crash. It also got a 3-star rating for child protection.
The Magnite is made in India and is also sold in countries like South Africa. While it hasn’t been a big hit in sales so far, this strong safety score might help boost its popularity.
How Safe is the Nissan Magnite?
Adult Safety (Score: 32.31 out of 34)
- In crash tests, the driver and front passenger's head, neck, and thighs were well protected.
- Protection for their lower legs and chest was also okay.
- The car’s body structure was found to be strong and stable.
- In side crash tests, it gave good protection to all body parts.
- Even in a side pole crash, it protected the head and abdomen well, while chest protection was rated as average.
Child Safety (Score: 33.64 out of 49)
- The child seat for 3-year-olds failed to stop the head from hitting parts inside the car during a frontal crash.
- The seat for 18-month-old children performed better, but the chest protection was slightly less than perfect.
- In side crash tests, the smaller child seat gave full protection, but the larger one didn’t protect the head well.
- The car comes with ISOFIX mounts (child seat anchors), but no built-in child seat system.
