The all-new Volkswagen T-Roc (2026) has officially made its global debut with major changes inside and out. Built from the ground up, the second-generation T-Roc is larger, smarter, and more premium than ever before – and it could make its way to India in the future.
What’s New in the 2026 Volkswagen T-Roc?
- Bigger & Sharper Design: The new T-Roc is 12 cm longer, making it roomier than before. It features a coupe-style rear, sharper lines, and new lighting with LED headlights (IQ.LIGHT Matrix available).
- Fresh Colours: Buyers in Germany get six exterior shades, including bold new options like Canary Yellow and Flamed Red, paired with a black bi-colour roof.
- Illuminated Logos: For the first time, VW offers glowing front and rear badges.
Interior & Features – More Premium Than Ever
- Upgraded Cabin: Soft-touch materials, 13-inch touchscreen infotainment, and ambient lighting.
- Comfort Boost: More rear legroom, 14-way ergoActive seats with massage (Style trim), and bigger boot space (475 litres).
- Technology: Head-up display, new driving profile modes (borrowed from Tiguan & Tayron), Travel Assist with auto lane change, Park Assist Pro with smartphone remote parking, and exit warning for safer stops.
Engines & Variants
- Hybrid-Only Lineup (at launch in Europe):
- 1.5 eTSI 48V mild hybrid – 85 kW / 110 kW
- Two full-hybrid petrol options (coming soon)
- Transmission: All mild hybrids get a 7-speed DSG automatic.
- AWD Coming Later: 4MOTION AWD with 2.0 TSI mild hybrid planned.
- Performance Model: The T-Roc R will be the top-spec performance SUV.
Variants & Prices (Europe)
Volkswagen has simplified choices into four trims – Trend, Life, Style, and R-Line.
- Starting price: €30,845 (base 1.5 eTSI in Germany)
- Pre-sales have begun, with deliveries starting November 2025.

- Made in Palmela, Portugal – where over 2 million T-Rocs have been built since 2017.
- In 2024 alone, 2,92,000 units were produced, making it VW’s best-selling SUV in Europe after the Tiguan.

Will the New Volkswagen T-Roc Launch in India?
Volkswagen earlier brought the T-Roc to India in 2020 and 2021 through the CBU (import) route. Both batches sold out quickly. With the new model’s strong global appeal, Volkswagen may consider reintroducing the second-gen T-Roc in India—though official confirmation is awaited.
