New cheap CNG car launched in Indian market, looks like an SUV; Know price and mileage
Citroen India has launched a new CNG version of its small car, the C3, in the Indian market. This car includes a CNG kit that will be fitted by Citroen dealers. The cost of this kit is around ₹93,000 more than the base petrol version. After installing the CNG kit, the starting ex-showroom price of the C3 CNG is ₹7.16 lakh. Customers can choose to add this CNG kit to any variant they like.
The CNG kit has been provided by Lovato, a company that supplies and installs CNG systems. It includes a single-cylinder tank with a capacity of 55 liters. On a full tank, the car can run about 170 to 200 kilometers. The C3 CNG comes with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 82 horsepower and 115 Nm of torque. The company has not yet shared the power details when running on CNG. The car uses a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Citroen has improved the rear suspension of the car to handle the extra weight of the CNG system. This helps the car drive more smoothly and feel more comfortable. The Citroen C3 CNG will be offered in four variants: Live, Feel, Feel (O), and Shine. The prices range from ₹7.16 lakh to ₹9.24 lakh (ex-showroom). The company is also giving a 3-year or 1 lakh kilometer warranty on the CNG parts, just like the petrol version.
For safety and features, the C3 CNG includes 6 airbags as a standard feature. Other features include LED projector headlights, automatic climate control, a fully digital instrument cluster, power window buttons placed on the door instead of the center console, and electrically adjustable side mirrors with turn indicators.
In India, the Citroen C3 CNG will compete with other small cars such as the Maruti Swift, Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, and Renault Kiger.
