Hyundai Creta Sees Higher Demand for Petrol Variants

Creta Petrol vs Diesel Demand

Hyundai India has revealed that the Creta is seeing more demand for petrol-powered variants. The sales ratio currently stands at 60% petrol and 40% diesel.

The SUV is available with three engine choices:

  • 1.5-litre petrol
  • 1.5-litre GDi turbo petrol
  • 1.5-litre diesel

All engines come with both manual (MT) and automatic (AT) transmission options. According to Hyundai COO Tarun Garg, buyers are also showing more interest in top-spec trims of the Creta.

Rural vs Urban Buying Trends

  • Diesel demand is higher in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
  • Petrol demand is stronger in Maharashtra and North East states.
  • Hyundai also noted that while rural demand was higher last year, urban demand is expected to rise again due to recent GST revisions.

Venue and i20 Benefit from GST Cuts

Hyundai says the Venue and i20 have received maximum benefit from the new GST tax revisions.

  • Venue: Price reduced by up to ₹1.23 lakh (Standard) and ₹1.19 lakh (N Line)
  • i20: Price cut by ₹98,000 (Standard) and ₹1.08 lakh (N Line)

The new-gen Venue has already been spotted testing and is likely to launch by the end of this year.

Hyundai Knight & King Editions for Festive Season

To boost festive sales, Hyundai launched special edition models:

  • Knight Edition – Alcazar, i20, and Creta Electric

Creta 10-Year Celebration – Creta King, Creta King Knight, and Creta King Limited Edition
