Honda to Launch 3 New Hybrid and Electric SUVs in India by 2026-27

Honda is planning to launch three new SUVs in India during the 2026-27 financial year. The company wants to increase its market share with these new models. Right now, Honda only sells one SUV (the Elevate), along with the Amaze and City sedans.

1. First Electric SUV Coming in 2026

Honda will launch its first electric SUV in early 2026. Earlier it was expected to be an electric version of the Elevate, but now reports say it will be a completely new model.
This new EV will compete with cars like the

  •  Hyundai Creta EV
  • Tata Curvv EV,
  •  Mahindra BE.06
  •  Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara.

2. New 7-Seater SUV

Honda is developing a new 7-seater SUV with both petrol and hybrid options. It will be built on a new PF2 platform, which can support both petrol and electric engines. Even the next-generation City sedan will be based on this platform.

3. Honda ZR-V Hybrid Might Launch

Honda recently showed its dealers the ZR-V hybrid SUV, which may come to India as a fully imported model. The ZR-V hybrid has:

  • This SUV could be brought to India as a CBU (fully imported model).
  • It has a 2.0L petrol engine + 2 electric motors, giving 184bhp power and 315Nm torque, and can do 0-100 km/h in 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 173 km/h.
  • It gives a mileage of around 22.2 kmpl.

4. Hybrid Version of Honda Elevate

Honda may also launch a hybrid version of the Elevate SUV. It will use the same 1.5L hybrid engine as the City hybrid. This engine will also be used in the upcoming 7-seater SUV.
 

5. New Compact SUV under 4 Meters

Honda is reportedly working on a new compact SUV (under 4 meters) on the same PF2 platform. It will compete with the Hyundai Venue, Kia Syros, and other small SUVs.
