Honda Scraps 0 Series SUV and Sedan

Imagine zooming in a super cool electric car from Honda, but poof! It's gone before it even hits the roads. What happened to these dream rides?

Honda has made a big change. They stopped making their new electric cars called the 0 Series SUV and Sedan. These cars were almost ready to roll out in the USA this year. But now, they are cancelled.

This news comes from Honda's own words on March 11, 2026. The cars were part of a fun new family of electric vehicles. People were excited to see them. You might have heard about them at big shows like CES 2025.

Why Did Honda Say Goodbye?

Honda had big plans for these cars. The 0 Series SUV looked like a boxy adventure ride. The Sedan was sleek like a fast spaceship. They promised long drives on one charge, up to 500 km. But tough times hit.

In the USA, rules changed under President Trump. No more big money help for electric cars. Gas cars got easier rules, so fewer people wanted electric ones. Honda said EV sales dropped fast.

Plus, cars from China are super cheap and smart with computer features. Honda could not keep up. Their money business got hard. Making these cars would lose even more money. So, they stopped.

Honda will lose billions. That's 340 to 570 billion yen this year. It's like throwing away a huge pile of cash. Top bosses are even giving back some pay.

What Were These Cars Like?

Picture this: The 0 SUV had big windows for great views. It was made on a special light frame called "thin, light, wise." Batteries were super slim. You could pick rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

The Sedan, or Saloon, aimed for over 300 miles on one go. Both used new tech like ASIMO OS for updates over air. They were software cars, always getting better.

Honda planned seven cars in 0 Series by 2030. These two were first. They even built a big factory in Ohio, USA, spending billions. Now, that's on hold too.
