Bentley Bentayga-based X Concept Revealed

Bentley Bentayga-based X Concept Revealed

Big, bold and ready for adventure – the new Bentley Bentayga-based X is a luxury SUV that wants to play in the mud, snow and rocks, just like a true off-roader.

What is the Bentley Bentayga-based X?

The Bentley Bentayga-based X is a special new concept car made by Bentley, one of the world’s most famous luxury car brands. A concept car is like a “test idea” that shows what future cars might look like. This model is built using the Bentayga Speed SUV as its base, but it is changed to handle tough roads and harsh weather.

Bentley showed the Bentayga-based X at the FAT Ice Race, a cool motorsport event held on snow and ice in Zell am See, Austria. The company wants to see how people react and decide if they should make a similar SUV for normal buyers in the future.

Power and performance made simple

Under the bonnet, the Bentley Bentayga-based X uses a strong 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine. This engine makes around 650 hp, which means the SUV is very fast even though it is big and heavy. Power goes to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox, so the car can grip the road or trail better.

The SUV has air suspension and a special system called Bentley Dynamic Ride, which helps keep the car steady and comfortable, even when the road is bumpy. For the X Concept, Bentley has raised the ride height by 55 mm and widened the track by 120 mm to make it safer and more stable off-road. It now has about 310 mm of ground clearance and can drive through water over half a metre deep, making it closer to a hardcore off-roader than a regular city SUV.

Tough looks with fun details

The Bentayga-based X keeps the basic shape of the normal Bentayga, but it looks much tougher and more ready for adventure. It rides on special 22-inch forged wheels from Brixton with chunky all-terrain tyres that help it grip dirt, snow and rocks. The wheel arches, side skirts, bumpers and rear splitter are finished in black, giving the car a rugged, sporty style.

On the roof, there is a big carrier with four bright spotlights, so drivers can see clearly during night drives in the wild. There is even a small electric Bambino go-kart mounted on top in some displays, used to show how much extra gear the SUV can carry and to celebrate Bentley’s link with the FAT Karting League. At the back, the Bentayga-based X has a loud and sporty titanium exhaust from Akrapovic and strong towing hooks to help in rescue or off-road situations.

Why this matters to you

If you like cars, the Bentley Bentayga-based X shows how a very rich and fancy brand is also thinking about real adventure and outdoor fun. It proves that a luxury SUV does not have to stay on smooth city roads; it can also climb hills, cross rivers and handle snow. For families and drivers who dream of both comfort and off-road trips, this kind of SUV could be very exciting in the future.

Right now, the X is only a concept, so you cannot buy it yet. Bentley is using this car to ask people like you: “Do you want a super-luxury SUV that can truly go off-road?” If many people say yes, a similar Bentley Bentayga-based X could go into production in the coming years.
