Porsche’s modern car factory in Leipzig has won the 2025 Automotive Lean Production Award in the carmaker (OEM) category. The award recognises factories that are efficient, high-quality, and innovative, using smart, digital, and automated production methods.
Since 2006, Agamus Consult and Automobil Produktion have given this award to plants that are efficient, innovative, and follow “lean” (waste-reducing) production methods. The Leipzig plant stood out for being cost-effective, eco-friendly, and always improving its processes with help from its employees.

The factory uses advanced machines, digital systems, and green methods to produce cars faster, cheaper, and with less harm to the environment.
The award will be officially given at the 19th Automotive Lean Production Congress on 25–26 November 2025 in Poznań, Poland. The winners were chosen after detailed surveys, factory visits, and production floor checks.
Porsche Leipzig opened in 2002 and currently makes the Macan and Panamera models. In the past, it has also built the Cayenne and the rare Carrera GT. The factory has won other big awards before, including Lean and Green Management Award (2021) and Factory of the Year (2023).
