Mercedes-Benz India has launched two new luxury sports cars in the Indian market, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 and the AMG GT Pro. Both these are two-door coupe sports cars, which were discontinued in 2020. The company has re-launched them in India after 5 years.
The GT 63 is priced at Rs 3 crore ex-showroom and the GT 63 Pro is priced at Rs 3.65 crore ex-showroom. These vehicles will be sold in India as Completely Built Units (CBU) from Germany.
In the Rs 3 crore price range, these cars will compete with cars like the Lamborghini Temerario and the Porsche 911 Turbo S. Their overall design is the same as before, but they get a retuned engine and a newly designed cabin with a 4-seater layout.
The company says that this is their most performance-oriented AMG GT car to date. They have been designed to perform both on the racing track and on the road. The company claims that this car can run at a top speed of 317kmph.
Performance: 612hp power and a top speed of 317kmph Both the cars are powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that is hand-built, meaning each engine is built by a skilled craftsman.
In the AMG GT 63, this engine generates 585hp power and 800Nm torque. The company claims that with this engine, the AMG GT 63 can reach a speed of 0-100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds. At the same time, its top speed is 315kmph.
In the AMG GT 63 Pro, this engine generates 612hp of power and 850Nm of torque. This car reaches a speed of 0-100kmph in 3.1 seconds. Its top speed is 317kmph. Not only that, it reaches a speed of 0-200kmph in just 10.9 seconds.
Talking about the transmission, both the cars get a 9-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with the engine. Along with it, there is a 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system, which sends power to all four wheels. The GT 63 Pro also has a drift mode, which doubles the fun for racing lovers.
Both the cars have Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Individual and Race modes. At the same time, the GT 63 Pro also has ceramic brakes and track-ready features, making it suitable for racing tracks.
